In order to answer to the research and technological development needs of the mexican oil industry, IMP has ten research programs on which outstanding scientists are devoted to basic research and its industrial applications in areas such as

• integral deposit study;
• securing of flow;
• basin/plays evaluation;
• water control;
• clean fuels;
• heavy oil processing;
• integral ecosystems evaluation;
• integral risks and
• concurrent engineering evaluation.
