National Petroleum Technology Office 
The National Petroleum Technology Office (NTPO) is responsible for carrying out the National Petroleum Technology Program (NPTP). Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the NPTO manages programs in partnership with industry, universities, and national laboratories. The mission of the NPTP is to move the United States toward a reliable, economic oil supply, enhance U.S. technological leadership, and protect the environment.

The Offshore Technology Research Center (OTRC)
The OTRC is a graduated National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center supporting the offshore oil and gas industry. A focused, cross-disciplinary research program has been developed. The five major research areas of current concern are: Floating Structures, Risers and Moorings, Materials, Seafloor Engineering and Subsea Systems
