National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA)
NOPSA is a Statutory Authority regulating Commonwealth, State and Territory coastal waters with accountability to the relevant Ministers. The Authority has its headquarters in Perth and it will commence operations on 1 January 2005.

The National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC)
The NOHSC is Australia’s national body that leads and coordinates national efforts to prevent workplace death, injury and disease in Australia. NOHSC’s vision is Australian workplaces free from injury and disease. NOHSC is not a regulatory authority and so does not make or enforce laws. The type of activities that NOHSC undertakes include providing OHS statistics, ensuring health and safety issues are included in training courses for employees in Australian industry, providing practical guidance on solving OHS problems and
setting the national OHS research agenda.

The Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA)
APPEA's mission is to achieve a legislative, administrative, economic and social framework which efficiently and effectively facilitates safe, environmentally responsible, socially responsible and profitable oil and gas exploration, development and production.
